The outgoing Vice-Chancellor of Al-hikmah University, Ilorin, Professor Toafeek Ibrahim has said considering the increase in number of recorded cases of coronavirus and fatality in the country, he would prefer the various citadel of knowledge embrace online classes which he said remained a safer option.
He said the Institution has been able to lecture and conduct examination online for its students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic via different applications.
Ibrahim stated this while featuring on Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)’s programme tagged”News Keg” on Thursday.
“I want to urge other various institutions to follow the trend of online education for now because of the safety of our children which is the safer decision, “he said.
He urged the federal government to invest more in the Agricultural sector, which he said can solve a lot of problems in the country.
“If one percent of oil revenue can be invested in Agriculture many problems will be solved in the country, “he added.
The professor of Epidemiology and Disease control noted that every sector of the institution felt his impact in the last five years.
