There are strong indications that the Oyo State Government will soon lift the current ban placed on worship centers so that churches and mosques can reopen in the state.
It was reliably gathered that the state COVID-19 task force headed by Governor Seyi Makinde had deliberated and consulted extensively with stakeholders on the issue
An informed source close to the government said guidelines for the reopening of the worship centers would be made available to religious leaders which must be strictly adhered to before members can congregate
Part of the guidelines according to the source, is the compulsory temperature testing kit, use of face mask, sanitizer and strict compliance with the social distancing six feet apart specification among others.
It was also gathered that the number of congregants at any worship center will not be limited to a specific number, but each religious houses will be mandated to observe social distancing among members that would occupy available spaces depending on the capacity or size of such center
