The Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 has commended the Lagos State Government for being proactive in containing the disease in the State.
The Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19, Mr Boss Mustapha, gave the commendation on Tuesday when he led other members of the team, to inspect some of the Isolation Centres In the State.
The Presidential Taskforce Team is being conducted round the Centres by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
At the 110-bedspace makeshift isolation centre within Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, which was the first port of call, Mr Mustapha who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, described the facility as first class, pointing out that it would help in the management of those affected with Coronavirus disease.
The Onikan Makeshift Isolation Centre will be inaugurated later this evening.The Covid-19 Presidential Taskforce Chairman also noted that the lockdown in Lagos has been achieving the desired results based on a report by the State Commissioner for Health Professor Akin Abayomi
Mr. Mustapha also thanked the Media in Lagos for their wide reportage since the outbreak of Covid-19 and urged them to report anyone with Covid-19 symptoms who might not want to submit for medical isolation.
The team has also inspected the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, Yaba where all Coronavirus cases in Lagos State are currently being treated, the one at LUTH, Idi-Araba as well as the one currently being set up at the Gbagada General hospital.
The Chairman of the Taskforce will give further updates on the management of Coronavirus cases and other efforts being made by government at the end of the tour later today.
