The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Shina Olukolu has assured the people of the state of the command readiness to combat crime and criminal activities to the bearest minimum through intelligence-led policing.
The police boss made the submission while parading 15 suspects involved in various criminal offences at the police command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.
According to him, the state command is ready to do more by carrying out its core mandates as enshrined in section 4 of the Police Act to prevent and detect crime, apprehend offenders, preserve law and order and to protect lives and property.
“We are ready to enforce all laws and regulations through intelligence policing and and public partnership.”
The command paraded sims swapping fraudsters who included Omotayo Azeez, Olufade Abdulgafar, Adesina Peter, Odugbesan Gbenga, Shiyanbola Harry and Effiong Udofia.
Others include, Arowosegbe Adewale, Adesanlu Kayode, Onasile Abiola, and Temitope Fatai, the only female among them.
Other suspects nabbed by the command include one Dannery Mohammed and Abubakar Woru who attacked Abduraheem Abdukareem a money changer, known as Bureau de change, chopped off his hand and dispossessed him of the sum of three million one hundred thousand naira. The incidence occurred along Ayemojuba village via Shaki while returning the market.
The command also paraded a cult member, Alabede Usman a.k.a Jagaban, who was involved in cult clash in Ijokodo.
The Police Commissioner said investigations are been intensified to arrest other fleeing members of the cult.
According to him, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), awarded the command with certificate of Excellence owing to it selfless service.
