Ibadan based songwriter, musician and talking drum maestro, Adebayo Ojo, popularly known as Dayo Success has revealed reasons his profile in the music industry has been on the rise since he ventured into the industry years back.
He attributed his rising profile and success to hard work, creativity and the grace of God, which has brought him to the limelight.
He said, “It is a thing of joy for me to see my profile and career improving over the years in the industry.
“The entertainment industry has a lot of superstars like Evangelist (Dr) Bola Are, Soji Adebayo (SOLEK), Tope Alabi, King Sunny Ade, Bose Super, Lanre Teriba, Tuface and others on both the gospel, hip hop, high life categories.
“So, I count it a great privilege and grace of God to be a celebrity.”
With a number of hit albums to his credit, Dayo Success said he is working on new measures to bring great dimensions into the entertainment industry in line with the current trend of technology in the system.
Speaking at an event in Ibadan, Dayo Success revealed that the industry which has great potentials has suffered setbacks over the years due to the insensitivity of government, adding that the government has not invested heavily in the industry to provide an opportunity for youths with talents.
“The entertainment industry has lost fortunes over the years due to the insensitivity of the government to invest and sustain the industry. The government is not doing enough to help the industry grow and be viable,” he said.
Speaking on his activities since entering into the industry in 1986, the versatile singer and music producer said aside singing, he has produced many popular singers including a United Kingdom (UK) based singer, Soji Adebayo (SOLEK), Layi Addis, Bose Super, Ajogbajesu Twins, Shade Adedeji (Apoti Eri), and many others.
“I play studio talking drum for singers like Tope Alabi, Esther Igbekele, Shola Allison, Femo Lancaster, Dare Melody, Bukola Akinade (Senwele Jesu), Lanre Teriba and host of other top singers across the country.
According to him, one of the areas the country is lagging behind in music and entertainment generally is in the advancement of modern technology, saying, marketers no longer sponsor the artiste’s work as they did in the past.
The vibrant singer who described Soji Adebayo SOLEK as his role model advised upcoming artistes to improve themselves and make good use modern technology to harness the potentials in the entertainment industry to plunge themselves into the limelight.
Some of his hit albums include Peak of Joy, Party Hour, Unlimited Fun, Next Level, Jesu Tonic and the latest, Endorsement, which is still undergoing studio work.
