The majority leader, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Sanjo Adedoyin, the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) executives leaders and members of Ogbomoso  South local government area have berated action of the returning officer, Dr Akin Jekins for not showing up at the party’s  Adhoc delegate primary election in the council area.

The executives while expressing their displeasure over the issue,  said the development was uncalled for.

They added that the action was intentional to sabotage efforts and success of the primaries in Ogbomoso South Local government.

The majority leader was apparently displeased by the matter condemned outrightly the action of Dr Jekins for not showing up at the venue of the exercise.

According to him,  the party in Ogbomoso South complied with the directives and names of the executives and the venue of the ward meeting was submitted to the office of the party secretary Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke at the state party secretariat.

“Party executives and members in each of the 10 wards in the local government assembled at the venue of their various wards meeting to elect their three  Ad-hoc delegates as directed by the party, but to our utmost surprise,  we did not see any state, local or zonal returning officer from the party.

“And  according to the rules, regulations or traditions any returning officer  appointed by the party  should/ suppose to report or liase with the party or the chairman but the reverse was the case in our local government.”

According to him, after several efforts to speak with the people at the party Secretariat was futile, he was called upon by the people on the development.

According to information from the state secretary through Hon. Adedoyin,  the local executive and party chairman was informed to organise the election of the 3  Adhoc delegates in each ward by swapping of the executives of each ward which they did by swapping of ward secretary and organizing the secretary of each ward to conduct the election.

The information added that the names of those who emerged victoriously should be sent to the party secretariat through the local chapter party chairman with all documentary evidence.

“When efforts to get in touch with the suppose returning officer appointed for our local government proved abortive, the party chairman and the executives under the chairmanship of  Apostle Moses  Olamoyegun and the ward chairman organized the election of 3 ad hoc delegates in each ward by swapping of the executive of each ward.

“The exercise after completion was duly signed by various wards executive, the Division  police officer of Ogbomoso

South Local government, Director of State Security Service and the Electoral Officer of Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) who supervised and monitor the election.

The majority leader and the executive wondered what could be the reasons for the development, just as they implored the party executives at the state chapter, the zonal returning officer to disregard any other report or result submitted in respect of the 3 ad hoc delegate in Ognomoso South, except the result submitted by the elected party chairman and executives duly signed by the appropriate authorities.
