DG FAYOSE CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION: WE DON’T RENT CROWD, OUR CHANCES BRIGHTER BY THE DAY
The Director-General, Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, has declared that the chances of the Peoples Democratic Party’s flag bearer in the June 21 election in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, of being returned as governor of the state in the election are getting brighter by the day.
Dismissing insinuations making the rounds that the crowd attending PDP rallies were being rented, Anisulowo said the huge crowd that had been attending Fayose’s campaign across the state only showed that Ekiti people are yearning for change.
He said the All Progressives Congress stalwarts were deluding themselves into believing that their candidate, Governor Kayode Fayemi would win the election.
According to him, “Ekiti pepole are tired of APC’s deception and dishonesty”.
Anisulowo made the statement on Saturday during a chat with WESTERN POST at the Campaign Secretariat of AFCO in Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti.
He said: “It was funny hearing them say that the crowd attending our rallies across the state is rented. The people are always mobilising themselves. On April 2 this year when Fayose came to the state from Abuja after getting the nod as our candidate, you could see the huge crowd of people that lined the street from Ikere to Ado. Most of them had been waiting since very early in the morning, in the scorching sun and Fayose did not get to Ado from Ikere until about 7 pm.
“If the people were rented, how much could they have collected to stay in the hot sun for hours? Everything was shown on television and those who watched the event should try and calculate how much would be spent to rent such a crowd.
“Fayemi, his campaign team and advisers did not sleep that day. To cover their shame, they cooked up a story that somebody shot at them from our campaign office.
“The police investigated, found out their lies and issued a statement warning against raising false alarm and heating up the polity needlessly. The man they alleged was shot is one of their band members and was in his shop the second day they claimed he was shot.
“We have the people behind us and we do not need to mobilise them. There is a wind of change blowing in Ekiti and nobody can stop it because it is from God. We are sure and confident that we are going to win the election. I want to appeal to Ekiti people to be patient because the days of the APC are numbered. In the next few months, we will get to the promised land,” he said.
