Do Away with Criminal Acts, Oyetola Warns Okada Riders

Osun State Governor, Mr. Adegbyega Oyetola on Wednesday warned the commercial motorcyclists in the state against criminal tendencies.

The governor urged them to ensure that criminals are prevented from infiltrating their ranks promising that their interest would be taken care of by his administration.

He said they should do away with unscrupulous individuals among them who are fond of aiding kidnappers and ritualists.

Oyetola who stated this after the motorcyclists in their hundreds, joined by tricycle riders, led the governor along the major roads of state capital Osogbo, to his office commended them for the honour done to him and the state.

The riders joined the governor from Osogbo Machine Tool Area through Stadium to Olaiya Junction through Ogo Oluwa before terminating it at Abere, the state secretariat, where the governor addressed them.

He said his administration remained committed to support all citizens through the prioritization of their welfare and wellbeing.

The governor said, “This is a demonstration to the fact that every section of the citizenry is with us. It shows that these people are very much with us.

“This is a surprise package for me because I was neither informed nor aware that I will be given a kind of huge honour today.

“I must reassure you our commitment to build a state aspired by all. We will not renege on our promises to take care of your welfare like other citizens.”

The Chairman of Osun State Commercial Okada Riders of Nigeria (OSCORUN), Alhaji Ismail Tiamiyu, in his remarks urged the governor to empower his members in return for their support for the state government.

He said the rally was organized to identify with the governor and further demonstrate their loyalty and commitment to his administration.

The OSCORUN Chairman pledged that the association would continue to contribute their quota to ensuring the success of the government.

“We came out today to show to the world our unflinching support for the administration of Governor Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) – led government.
