President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in Abuja met behind closed doors with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.
The Eagle Online reports that Dogara and Tambuwal, who came into the Presidential Villa together in the Speaker’s official car, refused to comment on the outcome of their meeting with the President.
Tambuwal, who avoided questions from State House correspondents, however, dismissed the assertion that the meeting discussed the political misunderstanding between the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
Tambuwal said: “No, I don’t know about that.”
The meeting, which took place in the President’s office, lasted for about 43 minutes.
It was also not clear if the meeting delved into the crisis between ex-Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abdulmumini Aminu and Speaker Dogara over allegations of budget padding.
Buhari had earlier met behind closed doors with visiting Indian Vice-President, Hamid Ansari.
