Traditional rulers from Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State have urged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Dapo Abiodun, not to forget the electorate if he eventually emerge the winner.
Speaking during the visit of the gubernatorial candidate to the palace of Abepa of Joga-Orile, the Aboro of Iboroland, Oba Abayomi Salako, urged Abiodun to ensure he kept to his promises, saying the dividend of democracy must be spread to the nooks and crannies of Yewa land.
Salako noted that politicians were fond of making empty promises, urging Abiodun to fulfil all his electioneering promises to the good people of the state.
“Politicians most times failed to fulfill all electioneering promises made to the citizen of their state. I want to believe that you will not join them and I know you will make all your promises a reality.
“This is my second time of meeting Prince Dapo Abiodun and I can see the trait of a complete gentleman in him.
“Dapo Abiodun is very rich and he is gentle, you might be rich and arrogant at the same time but he is gentle with all the wealth God gave to him.
“My instinct tells me that you have won the March 2 election and you will become the next governor of Ogun state by God grace.”
In his submission, Oba Adeyemi Adekeye, Abepa of Joga Orile, commended Abiodun for his ward to ward campaign tour, describing it as a process of door to door campaign.
He enjoined him not to forget Ogun West Senatorial district in his government.
“In Yewa/Awori, we are very poor and that is the reason why we have not become the state governor since the creation of Ogun state,” he said.
