The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osibajo has called on Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in both Federal and States establishment not to reject any Corps members for their primary assignment in any state of the federation.
Osibajo who was represented by the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun , through the Honorable Commissioner for Youths and Sport Mr. Afolabi Afuape, disclosed this during the Swearing-in/ Opening ceremony of 2017 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 Orientation Course of the National Youth Service Corps held at Sagamu Stadium, Ogun State.
He noted that if Corps members are embraced in government and private sectors they will be fully incorporated into the process of nation building which would made it easy for them to contribute their own quota to economy development of the Country.
“We aware of the challenges that faced by the National Youth Services Corps (NYSC) Scheme and it’s our duty to mitigate these issues, government shall continue to encourage cooperate organisations, Federal, State and Local governments to ensure smooth and effective execution of all the operation relating to NYSC scheme in other to make it easy for them to contribute their own quota to economy development of the Country” Acting president said.
In his address , the Chairman National Youths Service Corps governing Board Commissioner for Youths and Sport , Mr. Afolabi Afuape who was represented by the Permanent Secretary , Mr. Joshual Fabi , congratulates Corps members on their successful completion of the various academic disciplines that qualified them for the programme.
He said the Board members in preparation for the Orientation Course was enabled by the State Government’s magnanimity to provide some of the welfare needs on camp, adding that the NYSC Ogun State has the best Orientation Camp nationwide.
“I enjoin you to take advantage of the facilities put in place for your comfort not to abuse the previledge giving to you by the state government. The state government in his magnanimity has provide some of the welfare needs on camp” Afuape said.
Commissioner said the gathering together at the NYSC Camp was to affirmed to the entire Nigerian family that there is unity in diversity, saying that the National execrcised was a way of sustained the Unity faith , peace and progress of the Country.
