The Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Mohammed Fadeyi has admonished Christians in the country to allow fear of God, peace and love for humanity rule their heart in this Easter period and beyond such that would promote peace, unity and national development.
The Deputy Speaker in his Easter message urged Christians to take a lesson from the exemplary and selfless life of Jesus Christ to people and do the same in their day to day life.
He said, “I want to urge you to use the occasion of the Easter celebration to imbibe the lessons from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He lived a selfless life to the service of humanity and I want you to use this as a yardstick to relate and treat others. Nigeria needs love, peace and unity to survive.”
According to him, Nigeria is already at a point where it needs the people to turn to God and seek His face for the forgiveness of sins in order to move the country forward, adding that Nigeria is a country loved by God.
Hon. Fadeyi, who represents Ona Ara state constituency in the state Assembly also charged Christian leaders to be up and doing, saying, the only way to move the nation forward is to go back to God.
While congratulating Christians for the success of the Easter celebration, Hon. Fadeyi said: “I know that God loves Nigeria, that is why I am urging the people to cooperate and love one another to make peace reign and to move the country forward.”
