Education Empowerment: Lagos Lawmaker Donates Borehole, Generator, Books To Primary School




As part of efforts to encourage pupils of primary schools in Somolu Constituency 1, the lawmaker representing the area in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, on Wednesday, donated a borehole and a generator to St Peters and Paul Primary School in Somolu.

Olowo also distributed writing materials and exercise books to the pupils of the school.

Speaking at the commissioning of the borehole, Olowo explained that the pupils are entitled to consumption of portable water as they are in school for the acquisition of knowledge, saying that it would help them with healthy life which is necessary for knowledge acquisition.

The lawmaker added that donating the borehole to the school was a product of NEED assessment which was carried out by his team, saying further that the project would make the pupils to concentrate on their studies.

” The project we are commissioning today is a product of the NEED assessment carried out by my team recently on primary schools in Somolu and after all deliberation on the report, we agreed that a borehole should be in St Peters and Paul Primary School.

” This is also a means of giving back to my alma mata. I finished from this primary school many years ago and it is my joy that the pupils are benefiting from my education package”, said Olowo

Olowo, who assured the school management and the pupils of his constant support , said that other primary schools would benefit from his education package as time goes on.

One of the pupils who spoke on behalf of the pupils, Olumuyiwa Damilola, thanked the lawmaker, saying that him and his colleagues will not forget the day and the lawmaker in their life.

He and his team were joyfully welcomed by staff, management and pupils of the school.

Part of those present are; a former Executive Chairman of Somolu, Hon Omogbolahon Bagosto, a former Executive Secretary, Abiodun orekoya, Hon Fatai komolafe, Hon Lamuye Kayode and all ward Chairmen.
