Honourable representing Ijebu North 1 state constituency has charged the state government to hold Alhaji Akibu Titilayo popularly called Efele responsible for any damages cursed during the mayhem in Ijebu Igbo.
Hon. (Barr). Abiodun Niyi representing Ijebu-North 1 Constituency who also doubled as chairman house committee on transportations stated this while fielding question from our correspondent in Abeokuta.
Hon. Abiodun explained that the recent violence at Ijebu-Igbo and environs could be associated to the power play among the transport union, as Alhaji Akibu Titilayo called Efele, who was the state chairman for Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) was the figurehead and planning to imposed Razaq Ayinde – Aaro.
He said the violence at the motor parks which led to the arrest of many cult members and the transport union members, was as a result of supremacy among the union members.
Hon Abiodun said, “The issue of violence has been a daily occurrence in Ago-Iwoye and Ijebu-Igbo communities and the people involved should be brought to book.
“The people are not secured and properties are destroyed. Efele and his boys have been the ones tormenting these communities all in the name of taking over motor packs.
“Any violence again in that community, he should be arrested.”
According to Comrade Razaq Ayinde called Aaro chairman, RTEAN) Ijebu Igbo motor park said he was not the one fomenting trouble, neither lead any team to attacked anyone at the motor park.
While appreciates Alhaji Akibu Titilayo Efele and his executives for the leadership roles played in other to calm the situation and returned peace back to the community.
All efforts made to reach out to the state chairman, RTEAN, Alhaji Akibu Titilayo Efele proved abortive.
