Oluwo of Iwoland, HIM Oba (Dr) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has charged Muslims across the globe to reflect the teachings of Eid-el-Kabir in their daily conducts.
Oba Akanbi stated fear of God and respect of pledge are primary lessons of Eid-el-Kabir, saying emulating such teachings is enough to have a sane society.
As contained in a press statement by Oluwo’s press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, Oba Akanbi appealed to Nigerians most especially Muslims to abstain from illegal conducts and embrace fear of God, resign to the Creator and endeavor to fulfil promise.
“Eid-el-Kabir has a lot of lessons and teachings. Primary of those lessons are fear of God and respect of pledges. Adhering to these teachings is enough to have a sane and better nation.
“With fear of God, no one will kill his fellow for money or promotion. Religious clerics should lay examples worthy of emulation. And as Muslims, we should respect agreement and pledges. It is one of our attributes.”
Oluwo enjoined Nigerians to be civil by tolerating each other.
