The Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Mohammed Fadeyi has called on Muslims and Nigerians to seek peace among one another irrespective of colour, tribe and religious differences.
He said it is only this could promote national development in the country.
Hon. Fadeyi in a statement marking the 2020 Eid-El-Kabir in Ibadan said the nation irrespective of its present Socio-economic challenges can still get things right in the atmosphere of peace and tranquility if the people come together to embrace peace.
According to him, Nigerians should to use this period to pray for peace and progress of the nation, noting that the country which is blessed with vast human and natural resources is still wallowing in abject poverty.
“If Nigerians embrace peace among one another, I have no doubt that the nation will improve and experience progress and great development.
“So, I urge Muslims and the people generally to use this period of the Eid El Kabir celebration to seek the face of God for peace and progress for the country.”
The Deputy Speaker while commending governor Seyi Makinde for his stride and developmental projects in the state used the occasion to admonished the people to continue to rally support for him in order to move the state to an enviable position.
While congratulating Muslims on the celebration, he urged them to observe all safety measures by NCDC on the COVID-19 pandemic in order to control the spread of the pandemic.
“I wish all Muslims in Nigeria and the state happy Eid-El- Kabir celebration, and I also want to urge them to use this period to intercede for the peace and progress of the nation.
The lawmaker who represents Ona Ara state constituency called for more cooperation among members of the 9th Assembly in order to move the state forward.
