As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, the legislator representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Olusola Sokunle, has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria, calling on Lagosians to continue to support the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the leadership of the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. ( Hon) Mudashiru Obasa, in achieving the smart city developmental agenda.
Hon Sokunle, in a press statement issued today, in Ikeja, advised Muslims to practice the inherent philosophy of the birthday celebration of Muhammed (SAW) , saying that such act would build confident between muslims and other religious faithfuls in the country.
He said that Prophet Muhammed remains a symbol of friendship and a coordinator of unity, saying that embracing his principle with utmost good faith by muslims would further help in repositioning the Islamic religion as a peace-loving religion.
The lawmaker further called on Lagosians to explore various economic opportunities which the administration of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, has provided through the numerous infrastructural projects in the state, saying that the best way a people-oriented government could create enabling environment for productivity is to implement capital projects that would bring economic development.
Hon Sokunle urged Lagosians to keep supporting the House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. (Hon) Mudashiru Obasa, commending the Speaker for his impeccable leadership style and mutual relationship with the executive arm of the government of the State.
He assured Lagosians that the State’s Lawmakers would not stop in making populist laws that are of public interest as the lawmakers are committed to not compromising public interest while discharging their duties as legislators.
“Today, Friday, is announced as the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), I am using this opportunity to felicitate with Muslim brothers and sisters in the country and also calling on Lagosians to continue to support our Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, on the agenda of making Lagos a smart city state.
“Gov. Ambode in the past two and half years has been able to create an enabling environment for Lagosians to grow their businesses through the execution of various capital projects. With this, I will want many more residents of the state who are yet to tap from the economic opportunities provided by these projects to do so because any government that executes people oriented capital projects like how Ambode is doing, is one way or the other creating opportunities for economic empowerment for its people,” said Hon Sokunle.
