Eight out of the 12 aides of Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo (Igboho) have been released by the Department of State Services (DSS).

They were released on Monday sequel to an order by the Federal High Court, Abuja after spending 53 days in detention.

Out of the eight aides granted bail in the sum of N5million each six were released while out of the four granted bail in the sum of N10 million two were released.

Four of those arrested are still in the custody of the DSS

Counsel Pelumi Olajengbesi said efforts are being intensified to secure the release of the remaining detainees as ordered by the court.

It would be recalled that Igboho’s Ibadan, Oyo State resident was invaded by DSS operatives in July, during which seven persons were killed, although the agency claimed two lives were lost, while 12 others were arrested.

Igboho escaped death and fled to the neighboiring Benin Republic where he was arrested while trying to board a plane to Germany.
