The governorship candidate of the PDP, Mr Ayo Fayose, has declared that he will accept the outcome of the election “whichever way it goes.”
Fayose made the statement while speaking with newsmen shortly after casting his vote.
Fayose, who cast his vote in his ward, Unit 001 Afao-Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of the state, at about 2:10 p.m, said he would leave the outcome of the governorship election to God.
“I have campaigned enough; I did all that was necessary in this election.
“I know my people love me and they want to see me return as governor, but I will leave my fate to God,” Fayose said.
He, however, said he was very disturbed by the alleged level of violence and inducement in some polling units, saying that was very alien to Nigeria’s democracy.
He described the ugly development as unfortunate, saying he wished that such would not be transferred to the 2015 general election.
