Ekiti 2018: APC Cries Out Over Illegal INEC Registration of Non Indigenes

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has raised an alarm on the  ongoing Continuous Voter Registrations (CVR) of non indigenes across some towns in the state.

In a statement made available to WesternPost by the The state publicity secretary of the party,Taiwo Olatunbosun ,alleged that some persons in government of Ekiti state are behind the dastardly act.

He listed Ikere-Ekiti and some border towns as where the illegal registrations of non indigenes are taking place.

The Party Spokesman called on the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Prof. Olayinka Raji  to caution INEC officials at the registration areas against being used by agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to manipulate the process.

The statement read in part: ” This is to bring to the notice of REC and officers of Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) that illegal registration of non indigenes are ongoing in Ikere and some border towns across the state.

“The All Progressives Congress hereby use this  opportunity to condemn any act by individuals using the instrument or authority of Ekiti State Government to attempt to contravene or violate the rules of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise as laid down by INEC during the stakeholders meeting.

“We therefore call on the authority of INEC in Ekiti State to caution their officers and the security men in all the Registration Areas across the state against being used by PDP to manipulate the voters registration exercise.”
