2019: NANS Drums Support for Saraki’s Re-election as Senator

The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) Zone ‘C’ which  comprises ten states in North central and North East of Nigeria has declared support for the re-election of Dr Bukola Saraki as Senator representing Kwara Central senatorial district in the 2019 General Election.

The Public Relations Officer of the Association, Comrade Adebayo Kayode, made the declaration during a press conference held at Nigeria Union of Journalists Centre, Ilorin, on Friday.

He said the leadership style and legislative activities in the 8th Senate is unequal, describing Saraki as a consummate leader.

“Be that as it may, this gathering is very historic and remarkable because we are here in support of continuity mantra, a continuity in quality representation,educational development, good governance, and above all prompt payment of scholarship to the indigenes and indigent students studying in various institution in Nigeria and abroad,” he said.

According to him we decided to support Dr Saraki and all candidates of PDP in the forthcoming General Elections because we have a strong belief from all indications that Senator Saraki has true love and affection for the well being of students and youths in general.

“With proud enthusiasm, we pitch our tent with Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Barrister Razaq Atunwa and the entire PDP candidates for the attainment of their political ambition which will in give birth to rapid socioeconomic and sustainable development in the state and Nigeria as a whole.

“Today leaders of NANS zone C,Joint Campus Committee(JCC),Kwara state and Emirates Students Union are here to drum support for Senate President to return to the Senate without hitch,” he added.
Kayode said Senator Saraki’s contribution to human and educational development in the state include annual procurement of JAMB and SSCE forms to less privileged,scholarship to the indigent students, building and renovation of class rooms in each ward of 193 in Kwara Central senatorial district among others.
The PRO lamented act of negligence on the part of federal government to Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) over the ongoing strike of the Union.
