Hon Akintunde fondly addressed as AKT said the development became necessary in order to put an end to problems among herders and farmers in the state
“The law is not aimed at witch haunting herders, farmers or some group of people in the state as presumed by some people, but it is for the peace and common good of all.”
Hon Akintunde noted that the environment of Oyo was peaceful before the crises between herders and farmers started, hence the need for the law.
“The law will fish out the bad eggs among them, I urge the people to stay calm and allow the law to work out sanity.”
“I want cattle rearers to make ranch for their cattle because this is the practice in advance countries. The law will take process to mature, but we will continue to educate our people until peace is finally achieved.”
Hon. Akintunde who advised the Fulani herders not to see the law as a means of witch haunting them described it as environmental friendly just as he admonished everyone to live in peace and harmony.
