Emotions Run High at Wake Keep for Late Dapo Ojora


Emotions ran high on Thursday evening at the wake keeping and service of songs held in honour of Dapo Ojora, the polo-loving scion of the popular Otunba Adekunle Ojora family of Lagos.

Many family members and close polo-playing friends of the late Dapo were inconsolable. In attendance were his wife Patricia and his two sons.

Also at the service of songs were former Senate President Bukola Saraki and his wife Toyin, who is a younger sister of the deceased, Pastor Paul Adefarasin and his wife among others.

Dapo died on Friday, December 11 in mysterious circumstances. The manner of his death was not too clear. Whereas some sources claimed he may have shot himself in the head, others said it was through an accidental discharge.

Speaker after speaker the virtues of the late Dapo Ojora amid sobs by some of them.

Present at the wake keep held at the Main Field of Lagos Polo Club, Ribadu Road were family members, relations, friends and associates of the late dude too numerous to mention.

The mourners observed the COVID-19 protocols with virtually everyone at the occasion wearing face masks. Physical distancing was also observed as full as the place was.

Dapo Ojora’s remains would be buried tomorrow December 18, 2020, after a funeral service at the Cathedral Church of Christ.

Dapo was the last surviving son of Chief Ojora and Erelu Orelope Ojora following the death of their first son, Olagbegi, about nine years ago.
