As part of his efforts in reducing poverty in Somolu Constituency 1, the lawmaker representing the constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, has advised members of the constituency to reinvest the profits earned from the businesses they invest the money he gave to them.
Olowo gave the advice at the Somolu Local government meeting of the All Progressives Congress held today at Agunbiade Pry School, where he doled out N1million to 10 people for business expansion.
The lawmaker explained that he would continue the business empowerment scheme till every member who is an entrepreneur benefit from it, saying that it was a way of taking people out of poverty.
Olowo who was showered some accolades by the party faithfuls, informed them of the state government readiness to recruit teachers into public schools.
He advised those who studied education in tertiary institutions to apply through an online portal that would be opened on monday, saying that they should make available the print out to the party chairman for follow-up.
” Last week, I met with the Chairman of SUBEB who was my former colleague at Assembly, and he told me state government will begin to recruit teachers and so those who have NCE, B.ED, PGDE or M.ED should apply through the portal that will be opened on monday and submit a print out to the party chairman from who I will collect them for follow-up”, said Olowo
Earlier, the party chairman, Mr Femi Taiwo, informed members of the pledge made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on ward projects, saying that the governor had assured the local government of infrastructural projects across the council.
Also, a member of the APC Apex Leaders Forum in the local government, Apostle Peter Oyewusi, said the leaders had resolved all their grievances thereby unite to move the party forward to the next level.
Oyewusi stated that henceforth all the leaders would ensure that all that is due to the local government would be gotten as at when due.
