Apostle Lawrence Bamilaw of the Apostolic Grace Network Inc. has called on the Federal Government to acknowledge and accept the report and fact findings of the Lagos judicial panel of enquiry.
The cleric said the Federal Government should apologise for what happened at Lekki last year saying such step would not take anything from the government.
He stressed that if the government does not want the repeat of #EndSars protest witnessed in October 2020 in the country, it should do the needful.
Bamilaw, who is the convener of The African 24hours Marathon Praise 2021, gave the counsel in Osogbo during a press conference heralding the concert schedule to hold on 3rd of December, 2021.
He said: “You set up a panel and the panel came up with a sincere report which we did not see it coming. The panel said evil happened that day at Lekki. Mothers were thrown into mourning. Government should acknowledge and accept the report, Federal Government should apologise for what happened, it is not going to take anything by acknowledging it and say sorry.
“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a walk of peace is not enough to pay for the lives that were lost, a walk of peace will not restore their lives. Let us show more concern than doing walk of peace, this is not what we want.”
He also counseled the government to pay compensation to those affected in the incident as well as bring those found guilty of the evil to justice.
Apostle Bamilaw urged the Federal Government to attend to the five request of the EndSars youths.
Speaking on the marathon praise with the theme ‘The Almighty God’ Bamilaw said the annual program has continue to be blessings to people that have been attending.
