The Executive Chairman, Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Hon. Mrs. Morenike Williams, on Monday, visited the vandalised and looted sites attacked by hoodlums who hijacked the #EndSARS peaceful protest on Police brutality.
The Council Chairperson was accompanied by the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Comrade Ayinde Akinsanya Lasisi and other executive committee members, All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain, Hon. Jimoh Ajao, Some management team, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Branch Chairman, Comrade Adesina Arowosafe and all his Executive members among others.
The hoodlums attacked many shops, business malls, the Council’s Primary Health Centre, Police Station, Church, Fire station among others in Ikotun area of the council.
Addressing the owners of the vandalised and looted sites, Williams sympathized with them, urging them to compile their loses and send to her office for further negotiation with the State Governor to see how the government could help.
The Council boss appealed for peace and assured residents of the LCDA adequate security across the council area.
In his words, a APC Chieftain, Hon. Jimoh Ajao, applauded the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Council Chairperson for their quick interventions during and after protest.
The former Special Adviser on Housing in the State called on all Lagosians to remain calm and do away with any hatred speech and information that can lead to crisis in the State and across nation.
Place visited are; the vandalised Ikotun Police Station, Ikotun Primary Health Centre, the looted Twins Faja Supermarket, SLOT, FoodCity eatery, Mr.Biggs eatery, Christ Apostolic Church, Victoryland- Ikotun District, Ikotun Post office and all the looted shops opposite the council Secretariat.
The Chief Executive Officer, Twins Faja Supermarket, Mrs. Kemi Fajana, Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Dr. Elizabeth Fatuyi, Pastor Adegboyega Asha of CAC, SLOT Store Manager, Mr. Henry Eddoh, MR Biggs area Manager and Mr. Adedayo Adeola appreciated the Executive Chairman and her team for the timely visit.
