Major roads in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital was on Monday barricaded by the #EndSARS protesters who trooped out in their hundreds despite plans by the federal government to draft in the military to put end to it.
Vehicle and human movement was hindered by the protesters who carry placards with various inscriptions demanding for the reformation of the police force as well as the restructuring of the country.
In areas such as Iwo Road interchange, Sango, Mokola, Eleyele, Challenge , Ologuneru among others, many motorists as well as intending passengers who could not bear the stress the action caused had to return to their homes or initial locations
The activities of touts were, however, curtailed by the presence of private security guards who were hired by the protesters to maintain law and order.
Some of the protesters who were visibly angry over the turn out of events in the country took over the roads to play five- aside football
It will be recalled that the #EndSARS protests began about two weeks ago and have spread to most parts of the country to kick against police brutality and killings of innocent youths be men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
