When Gbogbo Bigz Girls Eniola Badmus Beat Jenifa, Mercy Aigbe, Toyin Aimakhu to City People’s Best Actress of Year (Yoruba) Award

It was a case of giving honour to whom it is due. One of Nollywood’s most versatile actresses, Gbogbo Bigz Girlz Eniola Badmus, who acted in the hit Yoruba movie Jenifa, made the headlines yet again when she won the Best Yoruba Actress of the Year at the City People’s Entertainment Awards. The awards were held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Lagos.

The bulky actress, who has moved into radio with her own radio show, and is at home in both the English and Yoruba genres of the movie industry, dusted other actresses like Funke Akindele aka Jenifa, Mercy Aigbe and Toyin Aimakhu to the award, a testimony to her growing prowess in the industry. Badmus is not called Gbogbo Bigz Girlz for nothing!

Timaya, Patoranking Break and Make-up Story

It appears popular Nigerian artiste Timaya is once again cool with the fast rising dance-hall artiste Patoranking. This much can be gleaned from a recent picture and tweet by the former.

Timaya was reportedly at loggerheads with Patoranking over the latter’s decision to ditch him for another record label. Patoranking was part of Timaya’s Dem Mama crew, but the latter never actually signed Patoranking to his record label, and when a better offer came knocking, he jumped ship and signed on.

Therefore, due to Timaya’s body language and a recent interview with NET, where he uttered ‘I cannot sacrifice my career for Patoranking,’ it was generally assumed that he was unhappy with the budding act.

But recently, Timaya posted a picture of him and Patoranking at an event looking all chummy, and went ahead to call him his favorite artiste.

Why is it that Celebrity Weddings Don’t Last? Juliet Ibrahim Confirms Divorce from Husband

Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim has split from her husband Kwadwo Safo. Juliet, who had consistently denied rumours of a rift between her and her husband, surprisingly released a statement confirming the split. In the statement released by her publicist, Juliet said the split was as a result of “irreconcilable differences” between them. The two erstwhile lovers have a kid between them.

“In the interest of an innocent child on the table, we ask that you treat this difficult but necessary decision to put her divorce out there for her fans to know with respect.

“Some marriages work and others do not…But when there is a child involved, the interest of the child should be placed beyond that of any other person—and that is what we’ve done over the years for the little boy,” she said.

First Time in History Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage, Mafikizolo & Sarkodie Perform at BET Awards 2014

The MAMAs 2014 winners will be going on stage for the very first time in BET Awards’ history. It would really be historic as top Nigerian stars, Ice Prince Zamani and Tiwa Savage; South African pop duo Mafikizolo and Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie take the stage at this year’s BET Awards Live in Los Angeles, US. The award comes up on June 28 and 29.

This has become Tiwa and Mafikizolo’s debut at the BET and first time performance in the United States. Meanwhile, Nigerian rapper Ice Prince, who won the 2013 BET Awards for Best International Act and is also billed and perform at the awards will also present the award for the same category he won last year.

This is the very first time international acts have performed as part of the BET Experience at L.A. LIVE since the introduction of international BET Award categories, “Best International Act: Africa’ and ‘Best International Act: UK’ in 2010.
