The former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has said he has no plan to dump his Party, the People’s Democratic Party PDP, for the opposition All Progressives Congress as being speculated in some quarters.
Idris, who disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists after the submission of the report and recommendations of PDP Reconciliation Committee set up the state Governor Idris Wada a few weeks ago, stated that it was figment of imagination of those peddling the rumour.
The ex-governor said efforts had been made to reconcile all aggrieved party members, adding that the committee headed by him had gone round and submitted its recommendations to Governor Wada for implementation.
On preparations for the March 28 election, Alhaji Idris stated that PDP is working hard to win the state, adding that it is very normal to have opposition in a democracy.
Earlier, the Governor Wada had thanked the committee members for the job well done and for the honour done to the party in the state by reconciling all the aggrieved party members.
He, however, assured the committee that all the recommendations contained in the report would be implemented to the letter.
