Former Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Chief Francis Fadahunshi and the Chairman of Regent Group of Companies, Dr. Daisi Aina, on Sunday, emerged senatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Pary, PDP, in Osun state.
While Fadahunsi emerged candidate for Osun East; Aina won the party’s ticket for Osun Central Senatorial District.
Former Minister of Youth Affairs, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi, had earlier been unanimously adopted as PDP candidate for Osun West Senatorial District.
Fadahunshi defeated former Chairman of the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), Mrs. Remi Olowu, by 265 to 116 votes to clinch PDP ticket for Osun East.
According to the result of PDP senatorial primaries for Osun Central held at Charity Hotel, Osogbo, Aina, an Abuja-based businessman, who hails from Iresi where President Jonathan observed his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, defeated Chief Kunle
Alao to pick the ticket for the district.
Speaking shortly after being declared winner of the primaries, Fadahunshi commended the leadership of the party for providing level playing ground for all aspirants, adding that his emergence through a democratic process shows readiness of PDP to excel in the upcoming general elections.
He called for more dedication by the party members and assured of his
preparedness to provide quality representation if elected senator.
