Fashola Commends Ambode on Federal Roads


Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has commended Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode for its interventions on Federal roads in the state, pledging to support the state more to make life more comfortable for residents.

Fashola who led his delegation to pay a courtesy visit on Governor Ambode today at the State House in Ikeja said the visit was part of a Project monitoring exercise in the South-West.
The Minister who stated that debts owed state governments on road interventions will be repaid by raising Public Bond Instrument, also solicited the support of the State government in securing the Right of way for government, which is a challenge across the country.
On power issue, the Minister said the Federal Government is ready to assist states to take control and produce captive power.
Governor Ambode described Fashola’s visit as historic, thanked him for his meritorious service to the state, adding that collaboration between the state and the Ministry would go a long way to move the state forward.
Ambode noted that out of the fifty years of the state’s existence, the last eighteen years​ of continuity in governance has helped the state and his administration is improving on it.
