The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has strongly condemned the attack on the daughter of the elder statesman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, resulting in her death.
Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, 58, was murdered by the Fulani herdsmen on Friday evening.
Tinubu, who was angry at the killing, said the security agencies need more hands and equipment to operate effectively.
Condoling Pa Fasoranti during his visit to the nonagenarian’s residence in Akure on Sunday, Asiwaju Tinubu advised him to take heart and rely only on God.
He said the demise of Mrs. Olakunrin was a personal loss to him given his close relationship with her.
Speaking with journalists later, Tinubu said: “I am shocked at the incident but as well, we need to equip the police and recruit more hands, though the force is recruiting, that may not be enough but giving them the needed tools to work with.
“As well, we shouldn’t let this divide us as a nation but to work together and combat these evildoers that are fomenting trouble in our dear country.”
