The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kwara State Chapter has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support which led to the state member of the association, Fatima Rasheed, emerging the National Treasurer of NAWOJ.
Rasheed emerged the National Treasurer at the just-concluded 10th Triennial delegates conference of the association held in Minna, Niger State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairperson and Secretary, Ayobola Olupinla and Mosunmola Ayobami, on Wednesday.
The Association charged the new treasurer to bring her wealth of experience to bear in running the affairs of the association
Until her emergence as NAWOJ National Treasurer, Fatima Rasheed was the Treasurer, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) KWTV Chapel.
She was formerly two-term Chairman, KWTV NUJ Chapel and the immediate-past Secretary, Kwara State NAWOJ chapter.
The association also acknowledged the unwavering support of the Chief Press Secretary to governor of Kwara State, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye.
It commended the Commissioner for Communication, Commissioner for Health and Commissioner for Finance and Planning, as well as other well-meaning Kwarans who in one way or the other contributed to the success recorded.
The association appreciated NAWOJ stakeholders in the state, members, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) state leadership and all members of the noble union for their support and prayers.
