Fatokun Calls for Calm over Soldiers Shooting Practice at Odogbo Range

A lawmaker representing Akinyele 1 State Constituency in Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayotunde Fatokun has urged the entire people of Ojoo, Aroro Makinde, Idi Omo- Akinyele  Community to be calm and work for the overall progress of the Local Government for the benefits of entire Area.

Hon. Ayotunde who doubles as the Chairman, Parliamentary Council in the Assembly gave the admonition in a Press Statement made available to Correspondents on the alleged mishaps from the shooting range during army practice at Odogbo Barracks,  Ojoo, Ibadan.

According to him,  the shooting range is used for shooting  competition amongst the military personnel and the Cantonment has made provisions for the land clearance of two kilometres to the closest communities, while a barrier of about nineteen metres high was also built for the purpose of stopping bullets from  flying off the range into the neighbouring communities around the barracks.

Hon. Ayotunde stressed that the efforts and contributions of the Nigerian  Army cannot be over- emphasised adding that the  Community should always find out the truth about the happenings and report to appropriate authorities inorder to safeguard unwanted occurrence in the community, and the State at Large.

He stressed further that he would not relent in his continuous efforts of serving the people of the community and ensure the safety of lives and properties regardless of party affiliation in Oyo State.

The legislator however appreciated  the efforts of community leaders,  Youths and others for their understanding and  peaceful co- existence in the community.

He  added that the dividends of democracy to the people at grassroots is one of the cardinal points of the present administration in the State .
