The Federal House of Representatives member representing Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos State, Hon. Oghene Emma Egoh, has organized victory thanksgiving party for constituents.
The people of the community showered him ecomiums on his positive representation at the National Assembly.
According to him, God and Amuwo-Odofin people made me to return to the National Assembly for second term.
“I was not the strongest or toughest candidate at the 2019 general elections in Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency. Despite that, so many political forces stood against me not to return but God took everybody by surprise. I want to use this victory thanksgiving party to appreciate God and Amuwo-Odofin people for using their lives to protect their votes for me in all political odds,” he said.
Egoh said that it was a serious battle but God gave us victory at last.
Speaking further, he said Amuwo-Odofin people knew his legislative capacity at the first tenure and entrusted their representation on me for the second term.
The lawmaker spoke on national security matters in across the country.
He said that the Speaker of the House, Rt (Hon) Femi Gbajabiamila, was an experienced legislator that knows his onion in power and that are ready to support his legislative leadership on security challenge in the country.
Egoh narrated his political journey so far, he explained that his political leadership started from grassroots.
Narrating his political journey, he said that he was once a councilor at the Badagry division local government and Supervisory Councillor at Ojo local government, saying that he later became the Publicity Secretary of NRC in Lagos State.
“I will remain committed to legislative prowess in the National Assembly,” he said.
Also, Hon. Mojisola Macaulay, member representing, Amuwo-Odofin constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly commended the legislator for seeing politics as one in spite of their different political parties.
“Our goals is to represent Amuwo-Odofin people well at the state and federal chambers”, said Macaulay.
She commented on the state of security in Nigeria, adding that state policing is alternative to solving security challenge in the country.
“Nobody is safe now and the prevailing security challenge needs to be curtained.
“At the Lagos State House of Assembly, we legislators are making frantic efforts to secure Lagos people and their businesses,” she said.
Earlier, Apostle Dr Patrick Utulu also commended the lawmaker and advised him to focus on legislative areas that would be beneficial to the people.
The gathering witnessed the attendance of PDP chieftains, friends, well-wishers, business moguls and christian leaders across the 57 local governments in Lagos State.
