The party, who spoke through its State Chairman, Mr Arabambi Abayomi, at a press conference in Abeokuta, urged both Chambers to send their committees for on the spot assessment before payment was done.

Arabambi alleged that some of the roads claimed by Gov Ibikunle Amosun to have been completed were never constructed or rehabilitated.

“Our attention has been drawn to a purported presentation by Ogun government to the House Committee on Works and Finance for refund of N222.9 billion in respect of construction work done on federal roads.

“We urge you to investigate this claims of refund by Ogun government and also to send your committee to come for on the spot assessment with members of civil right groups and other necessary bodies.

“We state without any fear of contradiction that the OGTV to Ibadan and Papa-Lantoro to Federal  Polytechnic Roads were never constructed neither rehabilitated.

“We have already sent our petitions to both the National assembly and the house of representatives which became imperative so that sanity can be restored into our state finance and administration.

“It is in full glare of the public that the Federal government has given three tranches of Paris club refund to states and our dear state has so far received the sum of N46billion, ” he said.

He, however, said that if nothing was done on the petition sent to the President of the Senate and the Speaker, House of Representatives, the party would be ready to take the state government to court.

Arabambi reiterated that democracy should be about accountability, adding that the party would not give room for any form of impunity.
