FG to Conclude Corruption Cases in 6 Months, Says Sagay

The Chairman of the special panel on anti-corruption set up by President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Itsey Sagay, has said the Federal Government would conclude corruption cases in the next six months.

President Buhari had rode to power on the back of his anti-corruption records and is fighting the battle against corruption stubbornly.

Speaking on a programme in Abuja relayed on Channels Television, Sagay said within the next six months the corruption cases would be brought to an end.

“Within the next six months the cases should be concluded. A case may conclude with acquittal because not all cases will end in conviction, ” he said.

He said Buhari remains committed to the fight against corruption and the war has yielded immense dividends.

In his broadcast to the nation on the occasion of the May 29 Democracy Day, President Buhari had said the details of assets returned by those who had looted the country would be released by the Ministry of Information and be updated from time to time.
