In a new rapproachment between President Buhari and Senate President Bukola Saraki, the Federal Government may have withdrawn the forgery charges against Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
The duo were alleged to have forged the Senate Standing Rule used in the election of the principal officers of the chamber in June 2016.
Also arraigned along in court with Saraki and Ekweremadu were former Clerk of the National Assembly Salisu Maikasuwa and his former deputy, Ben Efeturi.
WESTERN POST learnt authoritatively that the charges would be formally withdrawn on Friday at an Abuja High Court.
The case had come up on Thursday before the court but the prosecution did not demonstrate that they were ready to go ahead with the case.
