The Chairman, Transition Committee Abeokuta South Local Government (ASLG) Ake, Ayo Shomide, has described the sudden demise of the erstwhile chairman of the local government, Alhaji Oludare Gbolahan, as a great loss not only to ASLG but to Ogun State at large.
The council boss said he was deeply touched when he received the news of the demise of former executive chairman of the council who held sway between 1999 and 2002.
Hon.Shomide in his condolence message said the deceased had contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Ogun State and would be ever remembered for all his good work.
He said throughout his lifetime which was very remarkable, the late Serubawon, as popularly called, retained the humble and unassuming mien of a political technocrat.
“As a leader, he gained the respect of all and sundry during his tenure. Late Gbolahan was an amiable personality, a bridge-builder whose vacuum created by his demise will be difficult to fill in,” he said.
Hon. Shomide, however, joined the good people of ASLG and other well-meaning Nigerians to pray that the Almighty Allah grant the soul of late Gbolahan eternal rest and the members of his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
