By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun State has launched operation ‘Lights For Life’  targeted at vehicle light sign violations.

The operation which began on Tuesday was to clamp down on vehicles with defective lighting systems, such as bad rear lights and fixing of beacon lights in place of headlamps.

The Sector Commander, Paul Okpe, in a statement signed by the command’s Public Education Officer, Agnes Ogungbemii in Osogbo on Tuesday attributed most road traffic crashes occurring at night to motorists with most of their vehicles having defective lighting systems.

Okpe revealed that the enforcement shall continue and be replicated in all FRSC formations across the State to bring violators to book.

He however, advised against night travels describing it as dangerous.
