FRSC Sanitizes Road Users Against Reckless Driving

he Federal Road Safety Commission, Otta Unit,Ogun state at the weekend organized a road demonstrative public enlightenment on accident prevention, safety rules and regulations. Speaking to western post correspondent, the Unit Commander, Mr. Sunday Omafu said the high rate of accidents caused by commercial drivers in the area is frightening adding that there is need to education them to reduce the accident.
Omafu regretted that a police officer attached to Zenith Bank, Sango was knocked down by a commercial bus, added that people in the area are experiencing one form of accident daily caused by reckless driving by the commercial drivers.
The Ota Unit commander noted that accident caused by trailers in the area has been reduced, praised the cooperation of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria,(MAN) Ogun Sate branch, for emphasizing that any trailer that is not road worthy should not bring containers to the area.
He assured that his command will do everything within their power to ensure that there is total compliance of safety rules and regulations by commercial drivers and reduce rate of accident in the area.
The FRSC officers and men carried different placards with different inscriptions which read; say no one way driving, say no reckless driving, stop driving while drunk. Among others.
