Residents of Alafara area along Adetokun-Ologuneru area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, have started fleeing their homes for the fear of being attacked by Fulani herdsmen.

The reprisal attack is coming on the heels of 45 cows allegedly killed by residents of Alafara on Friday.

WESTERN POST gathered that the Fulani herders had threatened to come back midnight to attack the residents of the area, a development that led them to flee for their lives.

Also, our correspondent gathered that many homes in the area have been deserted for the fear of being killed by the Fulani herders.

A resident of the Alafara area who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the development, adding that efforts were on to curtail the issue.

When contacted on the issue, the Speaker of the state Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, said necessary actions would be taken on the development.

  1. The Yoruba people must not be doing things that didn’t work . Why killing cows. Chase them out don’t kill the cows. And preparation to protect against invasion must be taken seriously. Governors should provide Ak47 for the youths to face the Fulani herdsmen.
