Akwa United head coach, Patrick Udoh, has criticised his Kano Pillars counterpart Okey Emordi for his comments after the two sides’ clash on Sunday.
The Pillars coach lambasted the referee and contested the goal that assured Akwa beat the reigning league champions with a 1-0 score line, to keep them up as the league’s top side currently.
Speaking ahead of his side’s match against Giwa FC, the Promise Keepers’ mentor reacted with disappointment to Emordi’s remarks.
“I don’t think the referee had any reason to overrule the goal,” Udoh said. “So for me it is wrong for anybody to say the officiating was not fair.
“We all saw that it was a beautifully taken effort, but having said that I feel coaches should desist from unnecessary complaints whenever they lose any game.
“In football you win some and lose some. We played better and so we deserves the victory,” he added.
