According to him, Oyo State has witnessed tremendous development in every human endeavour since the governor assumed office in 2011 adding that the state has continued to enjoy an unprecedented peace and security since he took over mantle of leadership in the state.
“Oyo state has not had it so good like this in the past, the governor since his assumption of office has built infrastructures, revamped the education sector through various programmes like Oyo Messi and others. The governor has embarked on massive road construction all over the state. It is the first time the state is witnessing an unprecedented development.”
He has also tapped into agriculture, empowering the youths and making land available for its advancement.
Oyo State is today number one cassava production in Nigeria, the state is in collaboration with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and Forestry Research Institute if Nigeria( FRIN).
According to him, the sector has generated more employment to youths and the unemployed in the state.
Speaking on Governor Ajimobi’s stride and success in the area of mineral resources in the state, Hon Oyedokun said the governor has done so well in tapping into mineral development in the state.
He said minerals like Talc for tiles and power, castrate, tantlite, granite of different types were discovered and tapped into by the Governor.
“When the governor first came in, he set up Mineral Resources Environmental Committee chaired by me. The objective was to lias between the federal government and the state government and the operators on related matters. He also formed an agency called Oyo State Mineral Development Agency with relevant experts to collaborate with the agency special vehicles to move to all local government in the state were also provided”.
The Special Adviser said the exercise led to the discovery of gold in Osun which extends to Oluyole, Ona Ara, Egbeda, Ibarapa North, Itesiwaju Local Government Areas and many other across the state.
He said even though the project is capital intensive, Governor Ajimobi’s efforts in his development agenda is highly commendable.
While appealing to the youths to lunch themselves into agriculture as a means of developing themselves and the state economical, Hon Oyedokun recalled that the state government through collaboration with Australian partners are looking for more private companies to tapped into these success by the Governor.
