Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been declared the winner of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary, scoring a total of 3,224 to beat other aspirants.
Declaring the result at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, the state capital, on Thursday, the Chairman of Electoral Committee, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, stated that the election was transparent, free and fair.
He called on all contestants to join hands with Governor Bello to win the governorship election in the state comes November.
In a keenly contested primary election, the incumbent governor, polled a total of 3,224 votes, while his closest rival, Babatunde Irukera, scored 109 votes.
The former Nigeria Football Association President, Sani Lulu Abdullahi, got seven votes.

In his victory speech, Governor Bello commended the co-aspirants for their doggedness, saying there was no victor no vanquished.
He said his doors were open to accommodate all.
He appealed to all and sundry and all APC faithful to join hands with him to deliver the state to the party once again in the November 16 poll.
