Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has vowed to checkmate criminal activities in the State.
He charged the security agencies to go after criminals and bring them to justice wherever they might be.
The Governor was reacting to the weekend gruesome murder of Alhaji Yusuf Adabenege in Okene, describing it as heartless and vowed that perpetrators of the crime would be fished out to face the consequences of their action.
In a statement by the Director-General, Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr Abdulkarim Abdulmalik, the governor decried criminality in Ebiraland in spite of government’s efforts aimed at curbing criminal activities in the state.
While sympathising with the family of the deceased, he assured them of the state government’s resolve to ensure that those responsible did not go unpunished.
He described the late Yusuf as an unassuming and active member of the current administration who had, in no small measure, invested his talent and skills to add value to the good of the society and governance.
