Gov. Bello’s Aide Tasks Governments on Peace, Unity, Indivisibility of Nigeria

Against the back drop of agitations by IPOB,and Arewa youths council issuing out ultimatum to quit North by October 1st, 2017,government at all levels have urged to continue to preach peace, unity and invisibility of Nigeria nation.

The Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Culture and Tourism, Honourable  Tokunbo Asubiojo who made this call while speaking in chat with journalists during the traditional turbaning of Chief Alhaji Audu Oke as Sarkin Yoruba(Oba of Yoruba community of Lokoja)at the Maigari Palace in Lokoja

Asubiojo explained that Peace and unity are sacrosanct for the over all development of the country, noting that that it is high time we started to promote what will unite people  rather than those things that will divide them.

The governor’s aide noted the people should borrow a  leaf from Kogi, stressing that Kogi is a miniature of Nigeria with divergent languages and cultures leaving together in peace and harmony.

He commented the traditional of Lokoja,His Royal Highness the Maigarin of Lokoja,Alhaji Kabir Mohammed Maikarfi for appointing Alhaji Audu Oke (aka Owoniboy) as  Oba of  Yoruba community from seven Yoruba speaking states residing in Kogi State.

Asubiojo pointed out that this has attested to the character of Alhaji Audu Oke who has continued to foster unity among the people of the host communities over the years.

“Kogi State is a state to emulate. Irrespective of where you come from you can be anything. For example His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello appointed several none Indigenes as special advisers in his cabinet.”,he added.

He thereFore called on Nigerians to continue leave in peace and harmony with their host communities irrespective of where they are.

The Oba of Yoruba Community, Alhaji Audu Oke (Owo ni boy) expressed gratitude to the State Government who approved his appointment.

He assured the State Government of unalloyed support from Yoruba community,saying that the singular honour has remained the symbol of unity for sometimes now.

He commended the Maiagari of Lokoja for the honour bestowed on him, describing as father of all and advocate of peace and tranquility.

Alhaji Oke reiterated his commitment to continue to work for peace, unity and development of Lokoja and Kogi State in general.
