The Osun State Automobile Technicians Association (OSATA) has said that the State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has brought democracy to life in the state through his participatory governance.
This was made known during an engagement meeting between the association and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, held at Testing Ground, Osogbo.
The chairman of the association, Com. Azeez Akinola who spoke on behalf of the members, described the administration of Oyetola as people-centred which is from all indications, taking the government to the depth of grassroots.
According to him, “Oyetola’s administration has made the people assume their roles as critical stakeholder of a democracy by ensuring their contributions form an input in the policy formulation process and by extension, maintaining liberty, freedom, opinion poll and pursuit of happiness which are indispensable ingredients of a sustainable democracy.
“By prioritizing the plights of us masses, he has been attending to our demands made during the electioneering period and thank you tour which has translated to the administration’s giant strides in the health, education, infrastructural, commercial, security, among other sectors.
“The creation of the civic engagement office as the first of its kind by Oyetola is a strong assurance and testament to the democratic credentials of his administration”, he added.
While restating their support and allegiance to Oyetola’s administration, they however, appealed to the government to help them in the establishment of a mechanic and automobile village, noting that it will serve as a central workshop and help its members for productive and efficient output.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser acknowledged the unwavering support of the association for the progressive government which had been helpful not only in the commercial activities but also for community development.
“We cherish your long-term support for the progressive government which are enormous and it will not go unrewarded”, he added.
Oyintiloye further urged the group to continue giving the necessary supports to the current administration as the government will remain committed to driving political processes and governance for the improvement of citizens’ welfare, reiterating that their demands and aspirations would be given adequate consideration.
