Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola yesterday inaugurated the ultra-modern Baptist Elementary School in Ile-Ife.
The governor, at the inauguration attended by many important dignitaries in the state, disclosed that only N1.2billion had been spent on the e-learning device for secondary students in the state called the Opon Imo initiative.
He said this is contrary to the N8billion being alleged by the opposition in the state to have been splashed on the project.
Aregbesola said N1.6billion was spent on renovation of schools while N14billion had been spent so far on new schools.
He said 13 schools like the one inaugurated was being constructed across the state and are almost ready.
According to him, another 20 middle and 13 high schools are also underway.
On religious division, which many claim had crept into schools in the state following the drama that played out at Baptist High School, Iwo three weeks ago, Aregbesola said his government had been neutral in the matter of religion.
