Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has allayed the fear of residents of OgunState on the rumour making round the state that a particular political party is planning to cause security breach during the Saturday March 9, governorship and State House of Assembly elections, assuring that the federal government is fully ready to ensure adequate security of lives and property of all Nigerians during the election.
Osinbajo, who gave the assurance in Abeokuta; the Ogun State capital during the Abeokuta South local government mega rally of the All ProgressivesCongress (APC) governorship campaign noted that since the security matter is the responsibility of the federal government, it will do everything within its power to ensure adequate security of lives and property of all Nigerians during and after the polls.
He said, “We have been hearing all sorts of things across the state that a particular political party has sewn fake police uniform to be used on the election day. Let me tell you, do not entertain any fear. The federal
government will take care of security matter”.
“There will be no any form of security breach during and after the governorship polls in Ogun State”.
While appealing to residents of the state to come out en mass on Saturday 9 during the governorship election and vote for APC governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Osinbajo acknowledged the support of the electorates during the Presidential and National Assembly elections which led to the
re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari for another four years.
He described the forthcoming governorship election as historic in the life of the state, saying that the election will determine the future of the state.
Speaking at the rally, the APC governorship candidate in the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun buttress the call by Osinbajo that all eligible voters in the state should come out and vote for APC, on Saturday.
“Let us re-double our efforts during the coming governorship election, so that our success in the election will be more than that of the Presidential and National elections”.
While presenting Hon. Jelili Kayode Amosan, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidate in Ogun Central Senatorial District in the recently held National Assembly elction, Abiodun said the door of APC is still open to anybody who may wish to join the party and work for the progress and development of the state.
On his part, a former Governor of the state and a national leader of APC, Aremo Olusegun Osoba cautioned the electorates against financial inducement before and during the election, saying that if anybody gives them money, they should collect it but vote for APC in all the elections.
Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola attended the rally.
